Dr. Hasan teaches anthropology at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and had been a member of the faculty at the University of Bergen, Norway, and Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh, since 1996. He has been working with various United Nations agencies and Government organizations, national and international NGOs, and academic and research institutions of home and abroad since then. Specialized in Human Ecology with thematic interest and experience in: Climate change Adaptation, Sustainable Development, Disaster Risk Reduction, Traditional/ Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IK & TEK) and Community Based Preparedness, Globalization of Social Networks, Ethnic Identities and Politics of Difference, and Marginalization and Social Exclusion.
