We generate knowledge and evidence

We are expanding our understanding of how the transfer of power and knowledge occurs in the humanitarian system, especially that relevant to the Bangladesh humanitarian ecosystem. We work with all humanitarian actors in Bangladesh—local, national, and international—to develop practical tools and approaches that support the shift to a more localised and equitable system and facilitate more ethical and effective humanitarian action. We build and broker partnerships that align with the Principles of Humanitarian Partnership: equality, transparency, a results-oriented approach, responsibility and complementarity, and sustainability and mutual benefit for all humanitarian actors. inSights will harness a two-way approach to knowledge generation and capacity strengthening that enables local and national partners’ independence and self-reliance. We identify, learn, and integrate local good practices into global humanitarian discourse and contextualise global good practices to local humanitarian actions. Diversity is essential for inSights's shared success. We believe in and value diversity and the knowledge and expertise of people and partners and their ideas and perspectives.

Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia-Mechanization and Extension Activity (CSISA-MEA) in Bangladesh, partnering with inSights, conducted the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) analysis study in agricultural mechanization to highlight the need for enhanced gender responsiveness in agriculture mechanization policy, as well as to inform future stakeholder programming in this sector. The study had analyzed qualitative data, both primary and secondary, provided by stakeholders, including CSISA-MEA programme beneficiaries, partners and officials, the Light Engineering Sector Associations, training institutions, different non-governmental organisations, participating private sector actors, and other development partners.
